Air show
Krakov
Our friends from polish RAF reenactors group invited us to Krakow, to attend air show there. That both groups made interesting display dedicated to Czechoslovak and Polish airmen and airwomen in WW2.
Because we were in Krakow, city important for history of our WW2 resistance, we wisited Male Bronowice, former camp of Czechoslovak future soldiers, Rynek Główny or dom turystyczny, where were our future soldiers accomodated before theirs transport to France or outbreak of WW2. Of course, we visited Wawel too.
It is our honor, that our member, Milan Vacek, took part in realisation of the Museum of Ludvík Hynek in small village Ratiboř near Vsetín. This museum is place in former shelter of underground movement in WW2, where Hynek´s family covered underground freedom fighters. Ratiboř is in Beskydy Mountais, where were deep forests and because of it many covered freedom fighters. This part is history is commemorated by many monuments in this region. But..one of this monument is dedicated to victims of fight of two underground freedom fighters group….History is not narrow sometimes.
Thanks to representative and natives from Otaslavice, village, where Josef František was born, I attended commemoration journey from Otaslavice to Northwood, where he is burried. Route of this journey was planned via Normandy too and many other interesting areas.
I tis my pleasure and honor for me to attend this even. I met many interesting people, including nephew of Josef Bryks, MBE RAF pilot and victim of communist régime.
